Waubonsee Community College

Artist Talk: Juan Pablo Ruiz

Wednesday, January 29 at 2 p.m.
Sugar Grove Campus, Dickson Center, Arrowhead Gallery

The Waubonsee Art Department hosts galley exhibition by a variety of artists throughout the year. You are invited to view the exhibits and attend the accompanying talk by the artist.

Ruiz's work speaks of autobiographical narratives, politics, and violence, through both visual allegory and symbolism. In his new body of work, Ruiz brings into sharp focus the artificial barriers that immigration policies create. In exploring the interface of time and technological perspective, Ruiz marries procured satellite, real, and street imagery with intimate memories.
