Deadline: April 15, 2019, 8:00pm EDT
Awarded on an annual basis, the US Water Prize celebrates outstanding achievement in the advancement of sustainable, integrated, and inclusive solutions to our nation's water challenges. It is the preeminent national recognition program for exemplary efforts to secure a sustainable water future for all.
The US Water Prize for Outstanding Journalism on the Value of Water honors a member, or members, of the media who have demonstrated exemplary reporting on a water-related issue. The award is open to journalists and producers from newspapers, television and radio stations, magazines, and digital publications. This premier national award was created to recognize the positive impact that the media can have on building public understanding of the complicated and pressing water issues we face in America today. Inquisitive, intrepid reporters can elevate water issues beyond an “out-of-sight, out-of-mind” problem and help the public understand the true value of water, the importance of our nation’s water infrastructure, and the challenges and solutions to a sustainable water future.
Winners of US Water Prize 2019 will be announced and recognized during the annual awards ceremony on September 18 at One Water Summit 2019 in Austin, Texas. Nominations are due April 15 and winners will be chosen by an independent review panel of water experts. Alliance members and non-members are both eligible to apply.
