In order to create a safe, welcoming, inclusive and supportive learning environment for our students, we are pleased to announce an Educational Assistant Scholarship Program for two Grade 12 students (one Ingidenous and one Racialized) in St. James-Assiniboia schools.

The program will be fully sponsored by the School Division and tuition will include all expenses - registration fees, textbooks, supporting materials, First Aid, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI), and Microsoft Office Suite trainings.

Program Details:

  • Program is scheduled to run between September 2, 2024 and May 30, 2025.
  • Student will attend part-time evening and weekend classes.
  • Lectures will be delivered on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6-9:30 pm in-person and Saturdays from 9 am – 2 pm online.
  • There would be two practicums in January and May 2025. During the practicum, the student will work as an Educational Assistant in schools within our School Division.  
  • Winter and spring breaks would be observed and there are no classes on long weekends.
  • The scholarship candidate can access support from the divisional Indigenous education support team.
