The Benefits of Attending the Iowa Watercolor Workshop’s Annual Meeting:

  1. Get to know the “Artists Behind the Paintings.” We are a “virtual” organization with members across the State of Iowa.  The Annual Meeting is your one opportunity each year to meet your community of watercolor friends in Iowa.
  1. The life of an artist can be lonely – get out of your studio to spend time with your fellow Iowa watercolor artists.  Support your fellow artists by congratulating them on their exhibition awards.  YOU may be one if this year’s winners, too!  We want to congratulate you in person.
  1. Learn from our world-class workshop teacher and exhibition juror, Alexis Lavine, during her demonstration of art techniques.
  1. Share your knowledge.  As you enjoy lunch with IWS colleagues, help your colleagues by sharing your latest art making techniques, marketing ideas, technology utilization and art show experiences.
  1. Network.  The next conversation you have with your art colleagues could provide you with a key opportunity, a key contact or a key idea.  Or, you may provide your colleagues with key information to help them.

  2. Learn about Volunteer Opportunities– give your time and efforts for the benefit of you and others in the Iowa Watercolor Society.  Help the preeminent watercolor organization in Iowa.  Gain respect and friendship of your fellow artists by volunteering.
  1. Learn what the IWS has done for members and the art world in Iowa this past year.
  1. Win a Door Prize! Many members will win door prizes from sponsors.  Be there to win!
