Permission to record taught sessions

The University’s Policy on Audio or Video Recording for Educational Purposes states that personal recordings of teaching sessions are only permitted in certain circumstances.  This includes students whose disability impacts their ability to take their own notes.  The Policy can be found at https://www.leeds.ac.uk/secretariat/documents/avr_policy.pdf

You have given Disability Services evidence of a disability.  This means that you will be permitted to make personal recordings provided you agree that any recordings you make are for your own educational purposes and will not be reproduced, or played or passed on to anyone else.  In cases where there is evidence that you have breached  this condition, the University’s disciplinary processes will be followed.

Please note the following:

Where a recording by a student is permitted all those present must be informed and have the ability to object and ask for the recording to be edited. The process for notifying and considering objections is as stated in the Audio & Video Recording Policy.

You can ask the person leading your teaching session to inform those present about the recording, and to capture any objections.

Please enter the following details and confirm that you agree in the box provided below:

“I agree that any recordings I make are for my own educational purposes and will not be reproduced, played, or passed on to anyone else.” *
