POSITION TITLE:   Engineering Assistant

JOB SUMMARY:  This part-time position is an opportunity for an aspiring engineering technician or engineer to develop industry experience within a dynamic small business specializing in metal additive manufacturing (AM) products and technologies. Attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, personal integrity, and commitment to quality work are a must.

PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide technical assistance to engineering/production staff on assigned projects
• Representative tasks include design support, rapid prototyping/3D printing, assembly/testing of systems and support equipment, troubleshooting, inventory tracking, literature searches, etc.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, operating instructions, and security requirements
• Other duties as required to meet project needs

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Working towards an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering/technology field
• High school graduate (or equivalent)
• Must be US citizen or permanent resident

 DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Completed initial coursework (minimum 2 years of study)
• Experience in laboratory and/or manufacturing environment
• Hands-on experience with 3D printers, CAD software, machining tools, and/or electronics
