JOB SUMMARY: This position is an opportunity to develop and utilize hands-on skills as a member of a dynamic small business specializing in metal additive manufacturing (AM) products and technologies. The individual will carry out technical tasks related to AM systems operation, prototype/product testing, assembly, quality assurance, installation, and servicing. The position requires a responsible individual comfortable working in a manufacturing environment on time-sensitive tasks. Attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, personal integrity, and commitment to quality work are a must.
PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform AM system operations, production, and support assignments within allotted schedules
- Follow engineering drawings, work instructions, user manuals, and safety guides to perform assigned technical tasks and recommend process/product improvements where applicable
- Use 3D printers, machining equipment, handling equipment, calibration equipment, testing equipment, hand tools, and/or other resources as needed to complete tasks
- Ensure facilities, systems, support equipment, and tools are maintained in good working order
- Ensure machining/handling equipment and tools are used in safe manner with all required PPE, and adhere to all other safety protocols, operating instructions, and security requirements
- Other duties as required to meet project needs
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school graduate (or equivalent)
- Minimum 3 months of experience as engineering/manufacturing intern or equivalent
- Must be US citizen or permanent resident
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s degree in relevant engineering/technical field
- Hands-on experience with 3D printers, machining tools, and/or electronics integration

Physical Requirements: Must have adequate vision, hearing, motor skills, and ability to lift 40 lbs unassisted to support operations in research/manufacturing setting
