POSITION TITLE:   Research Assistant

JOB SUMMARY:  This part-time position is an opportunity for an aspiring undergraduate or graduate student to develop industry experience within a dynamic small business specializing in metal additive manufacturing (AM) products and technologies. Attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, personal integrity, and commitment to quality work are a must.

PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide technical assistance to research/engineering staff on assigned projects
• Representative tasks include experimental design/setup/support, data collection and analysis, programming, troubleshooting, documenting results, literature searches, etc.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, operating instructions, and security requirements
• Other duties as required to meet project needs

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Working towards a degree in physical/computer science, engineering, or related field
• Completed initial coursework (minimum 2 years of undergraduate study)
• Must be US citizen or permanent resident

 DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in laboratory environment supporting experimental design and analysis
• Familiar with software development, sensors/controls, data analysis, or machine learning
