POSITION TITLE:   Senior Systems Engineer

JOB SUMMARY:  This position is an opportunity to directly impact the state of the art as a senior technical member of a dynamic small business specializing in metal additive manufacturing (AM) products and technologies. The position requires an experienced professional with excellent technical and communication skills to lead AM technology/product development in a results-oriented collaborative environment. Attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, personal integrity, and commitment to quality work are a must. PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead/support internally- and externally-funded technology/product development projects
  • Lead/execute engineering design, assembly, testing, and transition planning of prototype systems
  • Define and execute technical tasks to meet project/product milestones
  • Manage technical/schedule/budget execution of assigned projects
  • Provide engineering inputs for proposals to secure government/industry/internal funding
  • Document results in engineering drawings, reports, presentations, publications, manuals, etc.
  • Ensure safety and occupational health program compliance and recommend improvements
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, operating instructions, and security requirements
  • Other duties as required to meet project needs

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in engineering, engineering physics, or related field
  • Strong competency in one or more industry CAD solutions (SOLIDWORKS, AutoCAD, NX, etc.)
  • Minimum 5 years in mechanical systems design
  • Must be US citizen or permanent resident

 DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in metal additive manufacturing systems design
  • Experience as project leader on multi-disciplinary technology/product development efforts
  • Experience in transitioning R&D results into product solutions
  • Experience in establishing/overseeing safety protocols in manufacturing setting

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

Employment Type:  Full time (salary)

Work Shift:  Daytime / office hours

Travel:  5-10% for customer/partner site visits and technical meetings

Physical Requirements:  Must have adequate vision, hearing, motor skills, and ability to lift 40 lbs unassisted to support operations in research/manufacturing setting

Location:  Beavercreek, Ohio
