Practice printmaking techniques with professional artist, Amy Nack. Be inspired by ancient and contemporary printmaking processes in the artwork displayed in Katazome Today: Migrations of a Japanese Art and other exhibitions as well as prints in BAM’s Permanent Collection.

Explore the relationships between text and image and the diversity of stories communicated through visual art. Work with professional artist Veiko Valencia to create your own narrative artworks. The exhibitions Silver Linings: Celebrating the Spelman Art Collection and RYAN! Feddersen: Coyote Now will provide many inspirational examples. Experiment with a variety of media including color pencils, ink, watercolor, collage, and acrylic paint, and incorporate your favorite literary works or your own personal writings to create art with a story.
