The Oregon Society of Physician Assistants is seeking presentation proposals for our 2020 Annual CME Conference on September 11-13, 2020 in Seaside, Oregon. The conference format includes 2 lectures each hour (with some exceptions for a single-track slot) focusing on medical/health specialty areas. Your proposal should be formatted for a one (1) hour session (45-minute presentation with 15 minutes for questions at the end). We are also looking for new and innovative hands-on workshops. Workshop proposals should be a two (2) hour session.
To ensure a balanced conference CME program is offered, all submissions are reviewed and evaluated by a committee of your peers. The evaluation process is competitive and if selected you will be notified by email or phone.
Below are suggested topics. Feel free to propose interactive case studies, provide clinical pearls, discuss the latest cutting-edge procedures or treatment options, provide a thorough review for individuals preparing for the PANRE, etc.
Pediatrics, Orthopedics, ER Medicine, Hospital Trauma Medicine, Infectious Disease Topics, Procedural Workshops, Neurology, Common ENT disorders, Cardiology, Diabetes Updates, Updating ACLS, ATLS and PALS, Point of Care Ultrasound, PTSD, OBGYN, Chronic Heart Failure, Endocrine Disorders, Vascular Pathology, Women’s Health, Weight Loss, IBS/IBD, CHF, Urology, Urgent Care, Obstrectrics, Endocrine Disorders, Vascular Pathology, Eye Disease, Psychology, Abdominal Pain Pathology, Nutrition, Treatment of Hepatitis C, Pain Management, Provider Burnout Prevention, topics that pertain to new PAs or students.
Note: The OSPA Conference Planning Committee reserves the right to make final selections to ensure balanced programming. Timely submission of a proposal does not guarantee selection. The committee reserves the right to solicit proposals for programs to ensure the diversity of program offerings.
Compensation: Each presenter will receive a $250 honorarium for each session. Presenters will have the option to donate their honorarium back to OSPA.
Accomodations & Travel: Lodging will be provided for one night. Arrangements will be made for guest speakers at the negotiated OSPA single room rate. The conference chair/committee will make room reservations on behalf of each speaker. Confirmation will be forwarded via email. All presenters will be responsible for making and paying for their own travel arrangements to and from the conference.
Registration: Presenters are not required to register for the conference unless they plan to attend other sessions.
Presentation: Presenters will be responsible to submit their presentation in advance to be posted on the password-protected area of the OSPA website. Presenters will also need to bring their presentation on a flash drive. All meeting rooms will be equipped with a laptop, LCD projector, screen, lavaliere microphone or headset and basic internet connection.
