2024 SAPA Annual CME Conference

The Society of Army Physician Assistants is seeking presentation proposals for our 2024 Annual CME Conference, currently scheduled for August 20-23, 2024, as an IN-PERSON event at the Embassy Suites Riverwalk, Downtown San Antonio, Texas.

The conference format includes hourly lectures, and your proposal should be formatted for a one (1) hour session (45-minute presentation with 10 minutes for questions at the end).  Our conference is scheduled to be in-person at the Embassy Suites Riverwalk, Downtown San Antonio, TX, with some pre-recorded lectures available.

Speakers will receive complimentary registration for the 44th SAPA Refresher Recertification Course 2024.  In addition to this benefit, speakers may request honorarium of up to $250 per lecture or workshop. SAPA will not be able to reimburse travel or hotel accommodations for speakers.

To ensure a balanced conference CME program is offered, all submissions are reviewed and evaluated by a committee of your peers. The evaluation process is competitive, and if selected, you will be notified by email or phone.

Topic suggestions: Case studies on deployed PAs; Cardiac related lecturers with review of murmurs; How AI is going to play a role in medicine and charting; New weight loss FDA approved medicine; Fentanyl overdose, prevention and treatment; Recovery addiction topics; Ketamine tx, depression, PTSD treatments for military; Hormone replacement, not just menopause talks; Kidney disease, medication not to use in kidney disease; Cardiac med review, why one antihypertensive over another; Primary care anticoagulant management after PCI, CABG, arterial event; Peds common disease review; Mental health but not in a breakout session for evaluation but more CME topics; Complicated  patients  with  uncontrolled DM, HTN, and Metabolic syndrome; How to be more effective with Non Compliant Pt.’s; Advocacy, modernization,  teaching, legislative updates, extended field care, PA compacts, emr, billing/coding; More holistic methods; Cardiology,  trauma, and vaccines.
