GAPA Board of Directors Application

Thank you for your interest in running for GAPA's Board of Directors. Please review the position descriptions below.  All election application material must be submitted by April 15, 2024. Elections will run from May 15, 2024 through June 15, 2024, and all candidates will be informed of results June 22, 2024. The leadership term will start July 1, 2024. Fellow members are eligible to apply to all open positions and must be Fellow members of the AAPA at the time application is submitted.

 

Associate members are only eligible to apply to Director at Large.



President Elect

The President shall preside at all business meetings of the organization and of the Board of Directors. He/she shall make a report on the Association’s activities at the annual meeting of the organization. In the event of death or other inability to fulfill the duties of the President, the President-Elect shall assume the office of President for the remainder of the unexpired term, and shall continue in such office for the succeeding term. The President-Elect will organize and conduct, with the assistance of the Secretary and Treasurer, all annual elections. The President-Elect succeeds to the presidency at the conclusion of the term of office.

Treasurer

The Treasurer shall be the financial officer of the Association and keep an accurate account of the receipts, disbursements, and property of the Association. The Treasurer shall give a financial report of the Association annually. However, the Board of Directors may delegate any part of these duties to the Executive Director.
 
Term of office is 2 years.

Director at Large ( 2 open seats)

Shall have the overall responsibility for representing the concerns of the general membership and ensuring the fiduciary viability of the Association. Shall serve as a Board Advisor to a Standing Committee as determined by the President. Shall be informed on all items of business to come before the Board for discussion and resolution.

Term of office is 2 years.

AAPA Delegates ( 8 open seats with 2 being alternates)

Delegates will serve for two (2) years. They shall perform such duties as may be assigned by the Chief Delegate. All delegate positions are required to attend the AAPA HOD meeting at the annual AAPA conference.
