THE STARTUP BUILDING VENUE CONTRACT

Please read all of the following.

A SIGNED AGREEMENT, DOWN PAYMENT AND FILLED OUT CARD AUTHORIZATION FORM, MUST BE RECEIVED IN ORDER TO RESERVE YOUR DATE AND TIME

RENTER WILL HAVE THE USE OF THE RESERVED MEETING FACILITIES FOR THE PURPOSE OF EVENT DETAILED ABOVE AND FOR NO OTHER PURPOSE

PLEASE READ THE MATERIAL BELOW TO MAKE SURE ALL PARTIES UNDERSTAND THE REQUIREMENTS OF PROVIDING FOR EVERYONES SAFETY AND KEEPING THE STARTUP BUILDING A WELL MAINTAINED AND SAFE LOCATION.

 

THINGS TO KNOW!

Before your event:

Deposit

The first half of your deposit is due when booking. You will also send back a card authorization form in case there are any damages. Please know that these will be deleted after the event and stored safely. If any damages, manager will contact you and let you know how much and get your consent. The second half is due the Monday before your event.

Week of

The Monday prior your event, the manager will reach out to get your schedule for the day (When you are coming to set up, how many tables/chairs you will need, etc.) and ask for the final installment of your payment.

Decoration Guidelines:

Nails/Tape:

No nails or tape are allowed on brick walls, posts, or white walls. You can use the nails provided on the top of the posts and command strips or hooks that you provide.

Glitter/Sparkles:

No Glitter or Sparkles, including fabric with Glitter or Sparkles on it.

Tables:

You are welcome to use our tables without linens, however if you choose to go this route, you must use plastic or wooden utensils. Metal flatware scratches the finish of our tabletops.

Candles:

Candles are allowed when in a container, mason jar, votive, etc. No open flames are permitted.

 

Cleanup:

Before your event

We will make sure the space is cleaned before your event. This may happen late the night before or early the morning of your event.

 

After your event

We have a short cleanup list after your event. You will get your own checklist that you will check off, sign and date. If this is not done, an automatic $100 fee will be taken. After assessing the space, there may be extra charges if cleaning was not done.

 

Cleanup List:

Take out trash to the dumpster (dumpster located around the orange shipping container out the catering door)

Wipe down tables

Put chairs away

Dust mop floors

Take all your decorations

Damages:

You will send back a card authorization form in case there are any damages. Please know that these will be deleted after the event and stored safely. If any damages, manager will contact you and let you know how much and get your consent. Any damages that occur to tables, chairs, or anything else should be reported to the event space manager before you leave for the evening and we will work with you on how to proceed.

REAL DEAL CONTRACT-

CLEANING/DAMAGES:

You will be in charge of the take down of your event. Our cleaning list includes dust mopping, wiping down tables, dust mopping, taking out the trash, and taking your belongings. 

Please be careful that damages do not happen. No sitting or standing on the tables, be careful with the chairs, walls, beams, doors, etc. 

You will be charged for any damages that happened during your event. For example, broken table legs, shattered window, broken chairs, etc. 

If you forego the cleaning list you will also be charged depending on what needs to be done from the list. 

 

BILLING:

All balances must be payable to The Startup Group LLC the Monday before the event. If the balance has not been paid by the commencement of the event, the event will be canceled.

Other billable fees or requested/required expenses or staff costs will be quoted on separate invoices, as costs are determined or necessary. All expenses will be estimated and approved prior to being incurred.

 

CANCELLATION:

Renter may cancel this agreement but deposit will not be refunded. 

Moving of a date will be considered a cancellation of initial date and re-booking of the new desired date. 

 

PAYMENT OPTIONS:

We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. We also accept cash & personal checks and Venmo. A $35 convenience charge will be applied for returned checks.

 

INSURANCE & LIABILITY:

Startup Group has no responsibility for, and Renter agrees to hold Startup Groups representatives and employees harmless from, any and all claims for damages, destruction, loss, or theft of any materials or equipment owned or rented by the Renter. Storage of materials or equipment prior to or following event will be at the Renter’s risk and must be arranged in advance with the Startup Group.

Renter agrees to be responsible for any damages done to the premises or any other part of the Startup Building during the function by the Renter, Renter’s guests, or any independent contractor hired by Renter. Renter will promptly compensate the Startup Group for any destruction, damage, or defacement of the Startup Building or its premises, which result during its use. Renter’s responsibility to the Startup Group is not limited in any manner by the rental rate. Renter will be responsible for cleanup of its materials following the event and agrees to pay any extraordinary cleanup costs incurred by the Startup Group as a result of Renter’s activities.

 

CITY, COUNTY, STATE, & FEDERAL LAWS:

Renter agrees to comply with the applicable City, County, State, & Federal Laws. Renter’s shall not knowingly use the facility, or knowingly permit it to be used by any employee, agent, patron, or invitee: (I) For any illegal purpose; (II) In conflict with any applicable law, ordinance, rule or regulation of any governmental authority; (III) in any manner which could void the insurance or increase the rate of the insurance on the facility (i.e. use of hazardous materials in or around the building); (IV) In any manner which causes injury to the facility; or (V) In violation of Startup Groups rules and regulations.

Startup Groups representatives and those in its employ are not responsible for injury to persons, or damaged to property, as a result of the use of The Startup Building. Renter’s shall be responsible for the conduct and safety of its employees, guests, and other third parties; for observance of all fires and safety regulations; and for adequate police protection.

Startup Group reserves the right to review, in advance of the event, propose security staffing levels and may request Renter to increase or change its security arrangements, and Users shall promptly comply with such request. The cost of such changes will be borne by Renter.

 

SITE DECORATION:

Startup Group wants every event to be a special and welcome experience. Therefore every effort will be made to allow the Renter to prepare decorations reflecting their creative requirements.

We ask that no alterations will be made to the facilities without the written approval of The Startup Group or one of its representatives. Renter will not tape or tack any materials to walls or doors. Renter is responsible for obtaining this permission. Any publicity regarding the meeting will not state or imply sponsorship by The Startup Group without advanced written permission from The Startup Group.

Candles are permitted for decoration only if they are in contained candle holders, no open flame is permitted.

The Kitchen prep area is available for storing and food handling. It is not a cooking area and the power is limited to 20 amps (4 plugs on 1 circuit). You may run extension cords from elsewhere. 

 

SUBLET:

This agreement is not transferable, and the use shall not sublet The Startup Building without written permission from The Startup Group.

 

ALCOHOL:

Alcohol can only be dispensed by a licensed bartender and if the renter has paid the $100 alcohol fee.



ENTRY & EXIT:
In permitting Renter the use of The Startup Building, The Startup Group retains the right to enforce all rules for the management and operation of such space. Representatives of The Startup Group shall at all reasonable times have the right to enter the facilities without providing notice to the User. All space relative to the facility shall at all time be subject to Startup Groups right to control.

The Startup Building is a historic building and only has access to the second floor via stairs. All arrangements to transport people and supplies must be made by Renter or vendors hired by Renter. The Startup Building is a multi-tenant facility. These tenants with have access to their offices via the rear stairs.

 

AMENITIES:

The Startup Building includes access to all their amenities during the rental period free of charge. Should any of these amenities not be available due to damage or theft, the Startup Building will not be held responsible and no discount will be given.

SERVICES:

Renter is allowed to use any external vendors and The Startup Group is willing to suggest vendors if needed.

 

SUSPENSION:

The Startup Group Reserves the right to suspend or cancel events due to if such obligations are delayed, prevented or rendered impractical by any of the following events to the extent such event is beyond the reasonable control of The Startup Group: fire, flood, riot, earthquake, civil commotion, insurrection, act of God, labor disputes, strikes, wars, shortage of or inability to obtain materials, supplies or utilities, or any law, ordinance, rule or regulation. In any such event The Startup Group shall not be liable to User for delay or failure to perform its obligations, except there shall be a pro-rated reduction in the consideration which would otherwise be due and payable under this agreement.

 

DEFAULT:

If the User defaults in the performance of the terms and conditions of this agreement, or any other agreement between Renter and The Startup Group, then The Startup Group, at its option, may immediately terminate this agreement with Renter, wherein Renter’s rights and privileges under this agreement shall immediately terminate.  The Startup Group may also terminate any other contracts with User. In addition, Renter shall be liable for all damages caused by such default, including liquidated damages.

In the event that The Startup Group or User are required to bring suit in order to enforce this agreement, the prevailing party or parties shall be entitled to recover attorneys fees and court costs, all out-of-pocket costs, the cost of expert witnesses and reasonable administrative expenses from the non-prevailing part or parties, including those incurred in any appeal or connection with any bankruptcy case involving The Startup Group or the User or the real property.

WE WILL BE INVOICING YOU SEPARATELY. 
 
Please complete all fields. You may cancel this authorization at any time by contacting us. This authorization will remain in effect until 1 day after your event. This information will only be used for any serious damages during your event and you will be informed if any damages occur.
