CACV, established in 1998, is a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission and purpose is to facilitate collaborative partnerships among public health agencies, private organizations, cancer centers, other interested agencies and organizations, and individuals and families to carry out recommended cancer control activities.

CACV focuses on the prevention, early detection, treatment, advocacy, research, and evaluation of cancer in the Commonwealth of Virginia. It fosters communication, collaboration, education and community awareness to meet the multifaceted needs of persons living with cancer.
