Pledge to Prioritize HPV Prevention & Eradication in Virginia

Many people dream of eradicating cancer and yet too many boys and girls are not getting a safe and effective vaccine that prevents six different cancers associated with the human papillomavirus (HPV). Having a proven vaccine that is used throughout the world to prevent HPV-associated cancers is a miracle of modern medicine.  The HPV vaccine is administered as early as age 9 up to 26.  HPV is the primary cause of six types of preventable cancers in women and men.  Nationally more than 8 out of 10 men and women will be infected by HPV and not know it.

With this statement, we, the undersigned, encourage parents and providers to continue traveling the road to health and wellness by being up to date on all vaccinations and honoring the Commonwealth's Immunization Policy.
Add your name today to pledge that you will work with us to reach VHIT's 2030 Goal for Virginia to have 80% of adolescents ages 11-12 starting the HPV vaccine series before entering 7th grade.
