About Our Education Programs:
 
Carnegie Classrooms workshops are taught in the school classroom between October and May and are 2 hours long each. Educators select from a list of offered classrooms, and the Teaching Artist schedules their presentation directly with the educator. Reimbursement is based on $100.00 per each 2 hour class taught in your home county. If a workshop is taught in a participating surrounding county, the Teaching Artist will receive an additional per day travel stipend of $20.00
 
The Afterschool Program is part of our Class and Workshop Series. Afterschool classes are always scheduled for 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., but can be taught any week day, Monday through Friday. Each instructor is paid 60% of the member tuition total upon completion of the course. Carnegie Hall retains 40% to cover administrative, advertising, staffing, and facility usage expenses. Supplies purchased by the instructor will be reimbursed by Carnegie Hall providing receipts and documentation are provided. (Example: An afterschool class with a member price of $100 had 6 students enrolled/attend. The Instructor would be paid 60% of each student's tuition, for a total of $360.00
 
Class and Workshop Series. A class or workshop maybe taught at Carnegie Hall any day, Monday- Saturday, or a combination of multiple days. Available hours of instruction are between 9 am and 9 pm each day. A 'class' is generally considered a single day experience, whereas a 'workshop'  or "series" can be multiple days. Each instructor is paid 60% of the member tuition total upon completion of the course. Carnegie Hall retains 40% to cover administrative, advertising, staffing, and facility usage expenses. Supplies purchased by the instructor will be reimbursed by Carnegie Hall providing receipts and documentation are provided. Example: A watercolor workshop series is taught for four (4) consecutive Saturdays, from 10-noon each day. The registration price for members is $200, and 6 students enrolled/attended. The Instructor would be paid 60% of each student's tuition, for a total of $720.00 for the whole series. 
 
Homeschool: Homeschool classes are held during the Spring Class and Workshop Series, and are held on Tuesdays, from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. The Homeschool series runs for a total of twelve weeks,  and may be divided into two separate age groups. Each instructor is paid $90.00 per 90 minute class. Supplies purchased by the instructor will be reimbursed by Carnegie Hall providing receipts and documentation are provided.
 
Carnegie Kids' College is a two week arts and science summer camp held during the second and third weeks of July. Instructors are reimbursed $200 per Morning class (60 minutes each) per week, or $300 per Afternoon class (80 minutes each) per week. There are a total of three morning classes and two afternoon classes available each week. Example: An Instructor teaches two morning classes (A&B) during week 1 and only the first afternoon class (D) during week 2. Total compensation would be $700 for both weeks.
 
Instructor Guidelines & Agreement
This is a general description of current educational programming only. A separate, individualized Letter of Understanding is required for each specific program, and will be provided by Carnegie Hall at the initiation of any Teaching Artist's agreement.
