Carnegie Hall is pleased to present its 29th Annual Juried Exhibition. This year’s theme is “Alternative Views.”
 
ABOUT THE THEME
The theme of the 2017 photographic juried exhibit was “Alternative Views.” In 2018 we are seeking non photographic works that also reflect what this theme means to you.

WHAT MAY BE ENTERED
Works created within the last two years, not larger than 50” in any direction, and not previously shown at Carnegie Hall. No photographic works will be accepted in 2018. Photographic art will be featured in 2019.
 
HOW TO ENTER
Submissions must be received electronically. Visit carnegiehallwv.org and click on the “Carnegie Hall Juried Exhibit” link. Fill out the form, upload image(s), and pay $25 entry fee. Please call (304) 645-7917 with
any questions regarding submissions.
 
IMAGE SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
•No photographic works will be accepted in 2018.
•Up to three (3) works may be submitted per one $25 entry fee. Please
only include ONE digital image of each piece.
•Image must be in JPEG format, sRGB color space, and less than 2 MB
(minimum of 1200 pixels in longer dimension.)
•The fi le name of each submission should be in the following format:
last name, fi rst name, and the letter corresponding to the entry
For example, John Smith’s Entry A would read as: smithjohna (all lowercase,
with no spaces punctuation, etc.)
 
DEADLINE
Entries must be received electronically by Sunday, July 8, 2018.
 
JUDGING CRITERIA
Works selected will refl ect the theme “Alternative Views.” Works will be judged on the basis of originality, technical quality, and thematic depth. No photography will be accepted in 2018. Jurors decisions are final.
 
ENTRY FEE
Entry fee is $25 for up to three (3) images. Payments should be processed according to the instructions under “How to Enter.”

AWARDS
First Place - $300
Second Place - $200
Third Place - $150
Awards will be presented Friday, September 7, 2018 at the reception.
 
SALES AND AWARDS
Works should be priced for sale. Carnegie Hall will process all sales of artwork and retain a 25% handling fee for each transaction. Carnegie Hall will collect 6% WV sales tax.
 
IMPORTANT DATES
Deadline for all entries: July 8, 2018
Notification of accepted works: Week of August 13, 2018
Deadline for receiving work: Friday, August 24, 2018
Awards Reception: Friday, September 7, 2018
Exhibitions closes: Saturday, October 27, 2018
Dates to pick up work: Monday and Tuesday, October 29-30, 2018
Shipped works will be mailed by November 16, 2018
 
Liability
Although accepted entries will be handled with all reasonable care, Carnegie Hall cannot assume liability for loss or damage to artwork for whatever cause. Artists who want additional protection may choose to insure their works independently. Payment of the $25 entry fee and electronic submission of a work to the exhibit shall constitute an agreement to comply with all conditions set forth in the Carnegie Hall Juried Exhibit prospectus. Permission to reproduce entries for marketing materials is hereby granted unless otherwise stated on electronic entry form.
