Child Safety

The school will ensure a teacher is onsite during each session. The School/teacher will be responsible for all child welfare and protection. Whilst QSH coaches are knowledgeable in hockey and will endeavour to deliver safe coaching instruction, it is the school teacher’s responsibility to ensure health and safety of the session.  QSH recommends that participants wear shin guards and gum shields but the school is responsible for deciding on a policy and responsible for enforcing a safety policy.

Communication

It will be the schools responsibility to communicate the club information to the parents and collect club monies from the parents. 

The school agrees to take responsibility for communication to parents regarding hockey clubs and for their policy regarding hockey protection (shin pads and mouth guards) *

Fees:

Quick start hockey will charge £250 per school for a 10 week term for up to 20 children in any one session for a one hour club.  If numbers exceed 20 then QSH will charge an additional £20 per child per term. Upfront payment is required before the term starts.  

The school is welcome to charge parent’s additional monies to fund the costs of providing a staff member for each session.

 Staff Requirement:

Quick Start will provide one Hockey Coach per club and the school will be expected to provide one staff member for the hockey session, who, with the support of the Quick Start coaches will deliver hockey coaching. We aim to teach the staff members to deliver hockey sessions and the objective will be to that these staff members will learn to coach hockey alongside our coaches. Our coaches will all have an Enhanced DBS Check in place which will be provided to the school prior to starting. 

Club numbers:

The club will run for a maximum of 20 children. If numbers exceed 20 then QSH will charge an additional £20 per child per term.

Dates:

The school agrees to collect all monies for the hockey club and provide a staff member for each club with a view to that staff member being actively involved in delivering hockey alongside our coaches. 

Sessions can be run outside on tarmac or grass, or in an indoor hall. 

All sessions will be on the schools site.

We would recommend each child purchases their own stick, however we can provide loan sticks at the sessions for those children who do not have their own hockey stick.

Quick Start Hockey will provide the following to those schools who do not have equipment:

- Hockey balls

- Loan hockey sticks at the sessions

The players will be expected to have:

- Trainers 

- Shin pads

- Mouth guards

- Water bottles

In consideration of the children being allowed to participate in this hockey program and its related activities, the school and parents, acknowledge and agree that:

There is a risk of injury to the child from the sports activities involved in this program due to the nature of the sport. Such risks arise from (but are not limited to) impacts from sporting equipment, poor, wet or slippery surfaces, physical exertion, intentional or accidental contact or collisions with other participants, Quick Start Hockey and it's coaching staff will endeavour to provide a safe environment for the children to play in, however the child's participation is at his or her own risk and the parent will assume full responsibility for their child’s participation. Quick Start Hockey have the right to terminate, without notice, any childs registration if the childs behaviour or that of any member in the group is deemed as dangerous and likely to cause injury to other children. In this instance, we will not be liable for any refunds, compensation or expenses.
