Hockey Academy Information

These sessions are available for all children age U7 (Year 2) to U13 (Year 8) attending Merton schools working with the Quick Start Hockey programme.

Places are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Quick start hockey session will run on:

THURSDAYS: Raynes Park High School, Bushey Rd, London SW20 0JL on Thursdays from 5pm to 6pm.

Academy sessions will run from 17th September (excluding half term 22nd and 29th October 2020) to Thursday 10th December.

We would recommend each child purchases their own stick, however we can provide loan sticks at the sessions for those children who do not have their own hockey stick. Due to Covid 19 it would be preferable if all children bring their own stick.

Quick Start Hockey will provide the following:

- Hockey balls

- Loan hockey sticks at the sessions

The players will be expected to have:

- Trainers or hockey astro's (no football boots permitted on the hockey pitch)

- Shin pads

- Mouth guards

- Water bottles

All sessions will run regardless of the weather unless you are informed otherwise by Quick Start Hockey on email.

Cost - £10

There will be a £10 charge for the Autumn term.

Hockey Protection and Communication

Hockey Protection

It is the responsibility of the parent / guardian to provide and ensure that your child is wearing shin pads and a mouth guard at each Quick Start Hockey session. Children who are not wearing shin pads and a mouth guard may not be included in the session.

Communication

We will communicate with you by e-mail or phone with regard to Quick Start hockey sessions and you consent to receive communication from Quick Start Hockey electronically for this purpose. You agree that all agreements, notices, disclosures and other communications that we provide to you electronically satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing. We will not share your your personal information with any external companies.

England Hockey Covid - 19 Compliance

All hockey participants are required to complete the Individual Consent for Participating in Hockey under Covid-19 Restrictions Form in order to participate in the Hockey Season 2020 / 2021.

The Wimbledon Hockey Covid Officer will have access to see who has signed up and will invite only those who have signed up to attend training sessions or matches.

In consideration of my child being allowed to participate in this hockey program and its related activities, I, the parent, acknowledge and agree that:

There is a risk of injury to the child from the sports activities involved in this program due to the nature of the sport.

Such risks arise from (but are not limited to) impacts from sporting equipment, poor, wet or slippery surfaces, physical exertion, intentional or accidental contact or collisions with other participants,

Quick Start Hockey and it's coaching staff will endeavour to provide a safe environment for the children to play in, however the child's participation is at his or her own risk and the parent will assume full responsibility for their child’s participation.

Quick Start Hockey have the right to terminate, without notice, your childs registration if your childs behaviour or that of any member in the group is deemed as dangerous and likely to cause injury to other children. In this instance, we will not be liable for any refunds, compensation or expenses.
